4th of July NAVY Seal Show

Every year the US NAVY Seal team in San Diego has a 4th of July show demonstrating some of their capabilities to the public. This is held in Gloritta Bay in Coronado. Again this year we were lucky enough to get a front row anchorage- in front of the maga-yachts. This is due to the efforts of a great crew! Starting in the galley Laura and Carole provided the fare for the day, everything from jalapeno carrots to homemade carrot cake and everything in-between, we were water piggies for the day.

Don and Lisa- Don was the anchor man- Thanks to him we glided into our spot and set the anchor before the coast guard could say a thing. Dennis and Laura own Affordable Marine Service, who provide us with year round troublefree boating and has saved me from myself several times;-) And finally Carole and I, your hosts.... Oh, and the boat of coarse, a Formula 23' Express Cruiser "Catch'n Rays" .

The show started off with helocopters coming overhead and dropping men in the water...

Oh, The feel of salt water wind in your face!!

Then they went around the Bay and plucked them from the water, then whipped them over our heads

Then the parachuters dropped in, landing on a dime...

Then the bombing started, and the patrol boats zoomed in and shot up the "enemy on the beach". Unfortunately the pirate ship that got harpooned did not come out in the pictures.

Check out the smoke ring! That building with the pointed roof in the background is the famous Coronado Del Hotel.

This is the "front line"
