This is the Famous Coronado bay Bridge, Linking downtown San Diego with Coronado Island. A little known fact is that there are two sections of the bridge that are designed to be able to float, this is in case of bombing or earthquakes the sections could be pushed away so that the Navy ships south of the bridge can put out to sea. In addition the Southern strand could be blown out ,allowing the ships to directly exit to sea to the West without the long sea detail going north.
